H1 blog title goes here

This is a test blog post I created before launching my website. I was using it to test if things were working, etc… But somehow a bunch of spam bots found my website before it was live, and started commenting adverts masked as legitimate comments. I thought the comments were pretty funny, particularly as this was just a page of biblical latin, so I kept it *but removed the links)… Worth a laugh, silly bots :)

Here’s what everyone posted on:

Summerfest brochure

Summerfest

Summerfest is a Kids and Youth holiday program that’s run on the Central Coast. Each year it attracts 500+ kids and youth to the morning and evening programs where they have heaps of fun and learn about Jesus from the Bible. Summerfest also runs a “getaway Cafe” for the 150-ish parents who come along.

In 2009 Andy was asked to design a brochure to advertise Summerfest to the families on the Central Coast. An A5 brochure was designed with 50,000 copies printed and handed out to every kid in the local primary schools, and also handed out at local community event and shops. Summerfest 2010 was a great success, as was the biggest it had ever been.

Print Design

Wednesday, June 10th, 2009

Since the invention of the printing press in 1609, print media has been used to effectively communicate countless messages.

Andy has designed countless print jobs, including brochures, banners, pamphlets, booklets, pricing catalogues and Tshirts. The possibilities are virtually limitless.

However a successful print job requires more than just a good design- you need to have a firm understanding of the technical limitations of the required print media. Colours and fonts need to be set up correctly. The job specifications and requirements need to be clearly communicated with the printers. That said, once you’re holding the final printed product in your hand (or mount it on the wall, or put it on, whatever), and smell that hot-off-the-press smell- you remember why print is such an effective piece of communication.
